Why is it important for a lawyer to review legal documents before I agree to the terms?

On the surface, a legal document can appear straightforward.  However, the fine print could expose you to risk.  The consequences for agreeing to terms that you do not fully understand could be costly.  Having an experienced lawyer review the documents could save you more than just money.

How many pages can be reviewed?

There is a six (6) page maximum per document with the Personal Legal Plan.  In the Business Legal Plan, there is a ten (10) page maximum per document.  Both benefits are included in the Comprehensive Legal Plan.

What if I have a longer page document or multiple documents?

Further review of documents that exceed the legal plan limit can be determined by the lawyer.  In some cases, any additional review of documents could fall under the reduced hourly rate benefit. 

In certain situations, attorney liability may require plan attorneys to ask for a retainer from the member prior to providing some of the Free Legal Services.

Is there a limit to how many documents that can be reviewed?

There is no limit to the number of new independent documents with the Personal Legal Plan.  In the Business Legal Plan, you get as many as five (5) independent documents each quarter.  Both benefits are included in the Comprehensive Legal Plan.
