Our Standards:

Lawyers in our network must maintain $3,000 of aggregate professional liability insurance if required in their state, or the state mandated minimums proved with a certificate.
Our legal plan lawyers are also required to maintain $100,000 per incident liability insurance.
Legal services must be provided to prepaid plan members at rates specified in the fee schedule section of our member guidebook. This means you always know what you’ll be paying upfront and there are no unpleasant surprises.
The lawyers must maintain an office for the practice of law and be regularly engaged in practicing law within their state in order to become part of our network.

On July 8, 1880, more than 400 attorneys gathered in Cleveland’s Case Hall to lay the foundation for what would become the Ohio State Bar Association.
In 1912, Florence Ellingwood Allen became the first woman to speak at an Association annual meeting and, in 1920, she became the first woman to be elected justice in the United States, serving two terms on the Ohio Supreme Court.
