Our Standards:

Lawyers in our network must maintain $3,000 of aggregate professional liability insurance if required in their state, or the state mandated minimums proved with a certificate.
Our legal plan lawyers are also required to maintain $100,000 per incident liability insurance.
Legal services must be provided to prepaid plan members at rates specified in the fee schedule section of our member guidebook. This means you always know what you’ll be paying upfront and there are no unpleasant surprises.
The lawyers must maintain an office for the practice of law and be regularly engaged in practicing law within their state in order to become part of our network.

Bar Association of Puerto Rico

The Colegio was founded on June 27, 1840 by a small group of Puerto Rican lawyers, a Venezuelan lawyer and a Dominican lawyer.
The first official act of the Association was to distribute the causes of the poor to represent them free of charge (pro-bono public).
After the change of sovereignty in 1898, it was granted the status of a quasi-public corporation.
The Association continues to work for the benefit of both the legal profession and society in general, maintaining its sense of belonging, with the support of its volunteer members and civil society in general.
